AYSO Region 183 Coaches
Thanks for volunteering with AYSO Region 183. As coaches for our youth, we are essential for integrating the important aspects of AYSO with our children's lives with positive coaching, good sportsmanship, player development and balanced teams.
As a requirement in AYSO 183, all coaches should be trained at the level for which they are coaching at.
Therefore if you are coaching at the U-08 level, the U08 Coach Certification is required. In addition, all volunteers in AYSO must compete Safe Haven certification.
Safe Haven certification is the base certification that is required for all courses in AYSO.
Certification Check List
All Coaches: Safe Haven Certification
U06: U06 Coach
U08: U08 Coach
U10: U10 Coach
U12: U12 Coach
U14: U12 Coach and Intermediate Coach
U16: Intermediate Coach / Advanced Coach and U12
U19: Advanced Coach with Intermediate Coach and U12
Note 1:
Completion of the previous level is recommended. Any coach can get certified at a lower level provided that they are complete with the current coach certification that they are coaching at this year.
Note 2:
Intermediate Coach Certification requires U12 Coach Certification
Note 3:
Advanced Coach Certification requires Intermediate Coach and U12 Coach Certification
Your Coach AYSO ID Number
All Coach Certification is done with your Volunteer AYSO ID Number.
If you have an account at EAYSO (http://www.eayso.org), you should be able to find your AYSO ID Number and your current certification.
Your Coach AYSO ID Number is required for all registration and coach certification courses. This is a MUST have and a requirement.
If you don't know what it is, please email me at ayso183coaches@yahoo.com.
If you have never logged into EAYSO, please do so and create an account. By having an account, you will be able to pre-register your child (coming soon) for the next season. Pre-Registering eliminates handwriting the application. All you need to do is print out your volunteer application and child(s) application for turn-in at pre-registration day. (March 2010)
Planning for the future and Coach Training
Your child's birthdate is very relevant as to where you will be coaching the following AYSO Season.
Reminder, all AYSO Region 183 seasons follows the school season. The age-cut off date nation wide with all AYSO Regions across the country is 7/31 and does not follow any school board/system cutoff date.
The 7/31 date is used nationally across many soccer organizations in the United States.
The age guide at AYSO is listed here: http://ayso.org/resources/registration/age_guide.aspx
Please note there is this year's 2010-2011 age-guide and 2011-2012 age guide listed.
So if your child's birthdate falls in U08 and next season your child falls into U10, you are then expected to have completed U10 Coach Certification.
We are now in the 2010-2011 Season (Fall 2010 thru Spring 2011). The next school year August 2011 is noted as 2011-2012 Season (Fall 2011 thru Spring 2012).
Access to In-Person Coach Training
Coach courses are available in the offseason which are usually in Winter and Summer. I or another Coach Admin will be contacting coaches with regards to upcoming courses. Please plan ahead.
Access to Online Coach Courses
Coach online courses for Safe Haven, U06, U08, U10 are also offered as a supplement.

Registration for In-Person Coach Training and Certification
